Breast Cancer

The Institute for Breast Care at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) is a model of modern medicine, where medical art and science combine to serve the community. The Institute is a comprehensive diagnostic center dedicated to detecting breast cancer by utilizing a full range of screening and diagnostic services at one location.

To fulfill its mission, the Institute has continued to acquire and utilize state-of-the-art technology which allows for the quick and accurate detection of breast disease.

Multidisciplinary teams of breast care experts are comprised of all fellowship trained radiologists, certified registered technologists and registered professional nurses, along with a strong support staff dedicated to the emotional and physical well being of each individual.

The goal of the Institute at HUMC is to provide patients with the highest quality care available while easing any anxiety associated with breast imaging and breast health issues.

The Center strongly recommends annual mammograms and encourages patients to perform regular self breast exams and to seek a clinical breast exam yearly or more often, as recommended. This three step approach best ensures the earliest detection of breast cancer and allows for the greatest chance of cure.
